Dita von Teese’s stylist non-spiration
I read an article today in Vogue UK (if you too live in an EST/PST/CST timezone, I recommend subscribing to their daily a.m. emails - the 5 hour time difference always makes me feel like I'm ahead of the game in fashion news), in which Dita von Teese weighed in on her style of dress, and celebrity stylists. Read it for yourself here. Stylists for A-listers have a huge influence in the media world; look at Kristen Stewart.
Her recent style on the red carpets for the Twilight Eclipse premieres have put her on People's Style section day after day, raving about her choice of dress. It's no secret that compared to her past rep of having zero clue how to dress, she has hired a stylist to lend her a hand. Dita's thoughts on celeb stylists in Vogue UK made me question the celebrity stylist's role a little; is it odd to let someone else dress you for the cameras? Are the media's repercussions on your choice if dress reason enough to let someone else choose your outfits? I'm questioning the celeb stylist role, and I'm a (fashion and wardrobe) stylist myself! What do you think?

Moschino summer madness
While interning at FASHION Magazine a few months ago, I chose to feature the Moschino patterned dresses more than once (making it's debut in a gallery featuring this summer's flower trend, in an article on how combining patterns can look good, etc.) and was waiting to see when it was going to hit the mainstream, aka celeb's fashion followers. It's finally started - Leighton Meester was photographed today sporting the frock in Paris and Whitney Port wore the similar style mini to the MuchMusic Video Awards. I think it's only just begun...
What I’m wearing – a Vogue perspective
They are everywhere on the 'net: blogs of self-taken photos of stylish women revealing their outfit de jour. Vogue UK has caught on and started a page on their site for fashionable celebrity women that send their photos in to the online magazine for 10 days; sort of like a 10-day ouftit diary. However, the A-listers chosen are always women who I admire for their fashion sense. Julia Restoin-Roitfeld was two weeks ago, Olivia Palermo the week before that...but I've been missing my weekly dose. Vogue UK - I'm ready for the next celeb journal! Check the mag's blog out here

Fantastics Magazine photoshoot, pt. 2
Below are two of my favourite shots that weren't included in our publication in Fantastics Magazine, so I wanted to share them here!
What you can't tell in the photos (kudos to our model!) is that it is just barely above freezing temps the day we shot. We also had about 45 minutes to capture 6-7 looks before we lost all sun. High pressure, high fashion, Fantastics Mag!

Summer days have arrived and they’re being published
I styled a photo shoot where the theme was life in the forest, going for an earthy yet chic look. Jake Rosenberg, the amazingly talented photographer (the kind of photographer that you devote hours to, looking at their pictures) sent me an email the other day, with a link to Fantastics Magazine. There was our photoshoot, published! Check out the article here! Below are the pics from the mag.

My Q&A with India Hicks – marathons, food and royalty

Check out the interview! fashionmagazine.com/indiahicks
There are several ways that you know of India Hicks - her grandfather was the last Viceroy of India, and gave the country their independence in 1947, which if you didn't already make the connection, is the reason for her name; she was Princess Di's bridesmaid, and Prince Charles is her godfather; she is a model and marathon runner; if you know your interior designers, you know her father, the one and only David Hicks. She was the host of the series Top Design. Or maybe you're a fan of her Crabtree & Evelyn collections. Regardless, she is an incredible woman, and I had the pleasure - acutally honour - of interviewing her while I was at FASHION Magazine. Read the article here and watch this video of her! I also recommend checking out her blog; her tales of her four children and life in the Bahamas makes me smile.
Portraits of Glastonbury community

After reading about the latest Target collab with Mulberry, I went on to the Mulberry website to check out their latest collections and instead found something that interested me even more: a photographer named Venetia Dearden has just published a coffee table book of photographs taken at the Glastonbury Music Festival since '04. It's called Glastonbury - Another Stage, and this quote describes the book best: 'a unique portrait of a temporary community.' I simply love music festivals, the unique fashion choices and style of festival-goers and photography, so this book is a match made in heaven. For my coffee table.

A little hint of tulle goes a long way
In the past two days Cate Blanchett sported a beautiful McQueen dress with a tulle bottom, and last night on The City, there was a two second glimpse of the back of Olivia Palermo's outfit, in which you could just catch a peek of some tulle underneath a long sweater. There is definitely an homage to the ballerina look trend in the works, albeit with a tough exterior. Edgy femininity - I love this look!
